If just the pedal came off then likely the threads are slightly fouled. Still better to take it to a bike shop, but first you can try taking an old toothbrush and using it to clean out any crud in the threaded hole in the crank arm. : Bowflex A fix for stripped arm crank causing the pedal to fall off— A guy at my local bike shop told me to screw the pedal in the other way like so, and that would improve the threading that became stripped in the arm crank. It came along with the crank (I think that's what it's called, I'm not that familiar with bike parts though.) It looks like it would pop right back on, but it won't.
The right pedal fell off, and the left one was loose. I put them back in and tightened them as hard as I could using a longer wrench.
